Book Your Hotel Accomodations

The Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup is a “Stay and Play Tournament. As a condition of acceptance to the tournament, teams must agree to book their hotel accommodations through Traveling Teams. Traveling Teams Inc. has negotiated special discounted rates for all visiting teams.

Event Information

ELIGIBILITY

Eligible teams are Boys and Girls U8 – U16. U8 will play U9-U10 Rules. U11 will play U12 Rules

CREDENTIALS CHECK AND ROSTER 

The deadline to complete your Credentials Check is Wednesday, January 19, 2027, Any player added after that date must contact the tournament at credentials@lvmayorscup.com  The rosters will freeze on, February 3, 2026.  No additions will be allowed after the rosters freeze. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

All teams are guaranteed at least three (3) matches (weather permitting). Please note that your third match on Sunday may not be scheduled until the other 2 matches have been played.  Local teams and teams that request may begin play on Friday February 5, 2027.  If you are from outside Nevada and do not specifically request to play on Friday, you games will start on Saturday.

BENCHES

Benches will be provided on all fields except for Kellogg/Zaher fields 1-7. Players and coaches will be on one side of the field, while parents will be on the other side of the field.

There will be fifty-three (53) fields used for competition, as follows:

  • Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex (Tournament HQ) Fields #1-10 Grass
  • Cragin Park #1-2 Artificial Turf
  • Ed Fountain Park #1-2 Artificial Turf, #3-5 Grass, #6-8 Artificial Turf
  • James Regional Sports Park Fields #1-16 Grass
  • Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex (KZ) Fields #1-7 Artificial Turf, Fields #8-11 Grass

ROSTER

Teams accepted to the Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup must have their complete rosters filled in at Gotsport.com prior to 11:59pm on January 19, 2027.  Instructions on viewing your team’s official Mayor’s Cup roster, are available by clicking this link.

SCHEDULE

SCHEDULES ARE RELEASED TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE START OF THE TOURNAMENT

Championship finalists will be determined by Tournament Scoring of the group's stage matches. All matches will be played at the locations listed in the EVENT FIELDS section above. The tournament Director may flip some teams between select consolation games, to avoid match-ups between teams from the same geographic area.

Allowance for time lost: Referees will not add time to a match except under the most extenuating circumstances. All preliminary matches will be terminated not less than five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the next match on that field.

TOURNAMENT SCORING

Win (including forfeit) Three (3) points

Tie One (1) points

Loss zero (0) points

Forfeits will be scored at 3-0

U8 Teams will play U9 Rules and Format.

The Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup International Tournament will adhere to current FIFA Laws of the Game published 2015/2016 for U8 through U16 teams, with the following amendments in accordance with US Youth Soccer (USYS) and Nevada Youth Soccer Association (NYSA) policies, including USYS Player Development Initiatives – Small Sided Standards published July 2015:

FIFA Law 1 – Field of Play

Field Markings: Some fields may contain alternative markings for other sports. Such markings will be in a different color than the soccer markings.

For U8/U9/U10, fields will be marked as shown below:

7v7 Field Markings

Build Out Lines on the U8/U9/U10 fields will be employed in accordance with USYS Player Development Initiatives – Small Sided Standards published July 2015, as follows:

  • When the goalkeeper has the ball, either during play or from a goal kick, the opposing team must move behind the build outline.
  • Once the opposing team is behind the build outline, the goalkeeper may pass, throw or roll the ball to a teammate. Punting the ball is not permitted.
  • After the ball is put into play by the goalkeeper, the opposing team may then cross the build outline and play may resume as normal.
    *Deliberate heading is not allowed. In case of a deliberate heading infraction, an indirect free kick will be awarded.
  • The build-out line will also be used to denote where offside offenses can be called. Players cannot be penalized for an offside offense between the halfway line and the build-out line Players can be penalized for an offside offense between the build out line and goal line
    For U11/U12 games, fields will be marked as shown below:

9v9 Field Markings

Dimensions: For U9 through U13 games, the field dimensions will be marked as follows:

  • U9/U10: 65 yards long by 45 yards wide, maximum
  • U11/U12: 80 yards long by 55 yards wide, maximum
  • U13: 112 yards long by 75 yards wide, maximum

Flagposts: There will be no corner flags on artificial turf fields.

Goals: For U9 through U12 games, the tournament will use reduced size goals.

FIFA Law 2 – The Ball

The ball will be Size 4 for U8 through U12 games.

FIFA Law 3 – The Number of Players

Number of Players: For U8 through U12 games, each team will consist of the following number of players, one of whom is the goalkeeper:

  • U8/U9/U10: seven (7)
  • U11/U12: nine (9)
  • Number of Substitutions: Unlimited substitutions will be permitted in all age groups. Substituted players may return to the field of play.

Substitution Procedure: Substitutions may only be made with the referee’s permission at the following stoppages in play. The referee will have the discretion to discipline coaches who in the referee’s judgment, utilize this substitution procedure as a means of wasting time.

FIFA Law 4 – The Player’s Equipment

The player’s footwear cannot have metal cleats (studs).

All players must wear numbered uniforms with no duplicated numbers on a team.

The home team must change jerseys in the event of a color conflict.

FIFA Law 7 – The Duration of the Match

Periods of Play:

U9/U10: Two twenty (25)-minute periods
U11/U14: Two-thirty (30)-minute periods

U15/U16: Two thirty-five (35) minute periods
Half-time Interval:  No more than five (5) minutes

Procedures to Determine the Winner of a elimination match:

No extra time will be played on any elimination match.

FIFA Penalty Kicks will be used to determine a winner.

Technical Area

The technical area is considered to be from the half-way line to the extent of the center circle in a team’s own half of the field.

The Fourth Official

A fourth official will not be provided.

Law 11: The Offside

In 7v7  games players can be penalized for an offside offense between the build out line and goal line when build out lines are used.

Law 12: Fouls and Misconduct

As prescribed by US Soccer, Heading is not allowed in 7v7 games

Guest Players

Guest Players

If you would like to join the guest player pool for the tournament, or if you have a player that would like to be a guest for your team, they need to register with the link below at Gotsport.com Guest Player Program account. There is a differerent link for guest players who are goalkeepers. Please confirm that the player has the same type of player pass (USYS, US Club etc.) as the team you are guest playing for.

Coaches

If you have already identified a player to guest play for you, you will need to obtain a player loan form and have the player's current coach sign it to demonstrate their permission for the player to play.  You need this documentation for your credentials check.  You will then need to add the player to your roster. If you are looking for a pool of players to pick from, You will find instructions for pool players here. If you are looking for goalkeepers, select the guest player program from the “Programs” dropdown list. NOTE: players within your own club are NOT considered guest players.
